There are many myths regarding who holds the record of the
world’s longest hair. Despite different opinions about it, we do know a few facts. This title belongs to a
woman named Yao Luzuo. Her hair is reportedly 35 feet, 9 inches in length. As
such, the Guinness Book of Records has recognized this woman as the world’s
longest hair owner.
Yao women in China have credited their hair growth secrets
to one simple ingredient in your cabinet. That’s right. Rice water is known to improve
the strength and smoothness of the hair. In the ancient Chinese village of
Huangluo, Yao women were recognized for their silky, long, and shiny hair. They were
nicknamed the ‘Longest Hair Village.” According to tradition, fermented rice
water offered numerous benefits for hair growth.

A teen from Modasa,
Gujarat, India has broken the record as the longest hair on a teenager,
according to the Guinness World Records. Nilanshi Patel, who was 16 at
the time, was given the title in 2018. She held a measurement of 5ft. 7in. of
hair. She stopped cutting her hair at the age of six and grew it over a decade.
She credited her hair has her “lucky charm.”

A woman from the U.S. city
of Houston, Texas holds the Guinness World Record as the longest fingernails
and is featured in the 2018 edition. Ayanna Williams has been growing
her nails for more than 20 years with a total length of 18ft. 10.9in. She uses
two bottles of polish to paint her nails. She’s also a manicurist by trade.
